Men’s Support Groups Help Men Man Up To Our Wounds

12/06/2022

No one goes through life without a few challenges. But manning up to those wounds can feel impossible when you don’t have the right support on your side. That’s where joining the right men’s group can help.

Joining a men’s support group helps you address and heal your wounds through systematic and approachable methods. If you know you want to find your purpose, grow your personal resolve, and change your life, finding the right men’s group can help you get there.

Below are five ways joining a men’s group can help you on your journey to healing and manning up to your wounds.

Define Your Life’s Purpose

As kids, we all dreamed of a great life filled with plenty of good times and better company. But somewhere along the way, the daily grind got to us. You may feel like no matter how hard you work or how strong you try to be, you still ask yourself what the point is.

As men, society teaches us to keep our heads down and work through our wounds to face life’s challenges head-on. But ignoring those wounds year after year brings its own set of problems. According to a study published in 2018, having a defined purpose in life increases positive health outcomes and can add years to your life.

Finding a men’s support group that offers science-backed groups is your ticket to defining your life’s purpose. At EVRYMAN, we offer this type of training through our weekly facilitated drop-in groups. Our experienced facilitators guide you through creating purpose and facing tough experiences to man up to your wounds and heal. There’s no more holding back when you have a well-defined life purpose.

Strengthen Your Character

One of the best ways to man up to your wounds and heal your trauma is by strengthening your character. The right men’s support group will help you build confidence and determination through a judgment-free community-based approach.

Learning to open up and be vulnerable about your wounds is a transformative experience. Men’s support groups are all about having a community of like-minded men actively listening and supporting you through your challenging moments. Summoning the courage to be authentic shows you that everyone has wounds they need to man up to. A supportive community acts as a sounding board as you work through your trauma and find the resolve to heal.

Become More Supportive In Your Relationships

Many of our wounds come from a lack of communication. Because no one taught us to open up and share our vulnerabilities, many of our relationships can crumble. However, joining a men’s support group can help you learn effective communication tools.

The best men’s support groups offer a robust program of group discussions, in-person and virtual events, and programs to help you heal from your wounds and become a more supportive person. Active participation in peer-to-peer groups with like-minded men gives you the opportunity to let your guard down. With the help of a group of like-minded guys, you can man up to your wounds and become the man you’ve always wanted to be.

Build Your Emotional Intelligence & Authenticity

Understanding what your true wants, needs, and fears are and learning the tools to share these with the world is the superpower better known as emotional intelligence. You need emotional intelligence if you ever want to man up to your wounds and heal from past challenges. Because emotional intelligence shapes the way you perceive and react to the things that happen to you, it’s critical you learn how to grow it.

A men’s support group like EVRYMAN teaches you the tools you need to share your authentic desires with the world so you can focus on healing and actually living a life built on your terms. Through peer group meetings and science-backed training, a men’s support group gives you the opportunity to wield your newfound knowledge to heal and move forward.

Learn To Be Accountable

A men’s support group teaches you to be accountable for your behavior. Whether you want to man up to past wounds or define a new way forward, you are solely responsible for your behavior. A men’s support group helps you learn how to communicate effectively to take ownership of your actions.

Learning to be vulnerable and address pain points is one of the keys to building better relationships and a better life for yourself. Men’s support groups help you hone your confidence skills to speak courageously about your true thoughts and feelings without fear of being misunderstood. Through a judgment-free support network, you can work through your authentic self without being held back by past trauma.

Men’s support groups are not for every man. However, if you’re looking for a program to help you man up to your wounds and heal your past trauma in a deeply-connected and supportive way, then the EVRYMAN membership is for you.
