If you really knew me you would know?

I am Southern at heart.

Where do you find joy in your life?

Besides design and my assemblage/sculpture work, I really enjoy adding clever notes into my youngest daughter, Willa’s lunch each day before school.  It drives her nuts but she’s 11 so I know this little joy won’t be around much longer.

What’s your next adventure?

We are looking to buy a property and recently put in an offer on an old book bindery/print shop.

What is your superpower?

Quickly cleaning and organizing when an unexpected guest arrives.

What does it mean to be a man?

This is an interesting question and as a father of two daughters I wonder if I would answer it differently if I had sons or no children. So, from my perspective to be a man is to be an effective listener, negotiator, problem solver, teacher, and protector all while balancing my masculinity with women’s rights and equality.  As my oldest daughter inches towards 16 she has helped me become more cognizant of these things and I am grateful for it.  Both of my daughters have been raised to be independent thinkers who are as bright, tenacious, strong, and worthy as any of their male counterparts.

Right now, what do you want and how do you feel?

I want all my friend’s businesses to get back on track.  I feel a worried optimism.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Staying focused with so many balls in the air.

What has been your peak experience?

I have been hunting for that heightened sense of wonder and awe ever since my two daughters were born.

What is your biggest fear?

Fear of time…My brain wants to rush things while I should be relaxing and enjoying life.
