Post Traumatic Growth

“If we are training people to shut their feelings off, we owe it to them to show them how to turn them back on.”

This week’s guest is a legit hero. George Faller was born in Queens and served tenure in both the NYPD and the FDNY. He served boldly at Ground Zero on 9/11, showing up not only on his shifts but volunteering as peer support in his off time. Also a trained therapist, George tentatively raised his hand to work as a couple’s therapist with first responders and their partners after the event. Goerge truly gets men and isn’t afraid of helping men out of their darkest and hardest places.

In this episode we explore:

Post traumatic growth
The Challenge response
Being designed to face stress in relationships with others
Oxytocin’s nudge
The need for successful emotional experiences
The cost of not experiencing joy

Goerge is leading a one day connection course in greenwich CT on nov 1st 2019-
